Thank you for your interest in supporting Wasatch Community Gardens programs.  We serve over 3,500 annually through our Youth Gardening Education, Community Gardening, and Community Education programs.  Donations from individuals are very meaningful to us. The many donations we receive from the community have enabled us to serve the Salt Lake area since 1989.

Donate to Wasatch Community Gardens

  • Donations to our General Fund help us to meet our most pressing needs. You may also choose to donated to a specific program, ensuring your funds go directly to our Youth or Community Garden and Education programs.

  • Our Fund for Community Garden has been established to help with the purchase of our 4th East Garden or to fund the establishment of a future garden. For more information on how the Fund for Community Garden will be used, visit our 4th East Garden Page

Alternative Gifts

Give the gift of Wasatch Community Gardens! For alternative holiday gifts, or celebrations, send a photo greeting card from the gardens! You can sponsor an educational workshop, provide plants for a youth class to grow, and more through your gift. To visit our page detailing alternative gift and card choices, click here.

In Memoriam or Honor

You may wish to make a donation in memory or honor of a loved one, colleague, or close friend. Please list their name in the "In Memory of" section of our donation page. Any short message you would like printed in our annual mailer can be included in the "Comments" section. We can also send a card to a designee of your choice if you include the individuals name and mailing information in the "Comments" section, as well. If you would prefer to discuss your donation, or set up a memorial fund, please do not hesitate to contact us at 801-359-2658.

Contributing Stock

  • Wasatch Community Gardens can accept donations of stock, please contact Emily Aagaard, Executive Director at 359-2658 for our brokerage account information to transfer stock.

  • By making a stock donation, you may avoid paying capital gains tax on the difference between the securities original cost and the current, fair market value.

  • For federal income tax purposes, you can deduct the value of the securities on the date of the contribution. The value of the contribution is the mean between the high and low quoted selling price on the date the securities pass from your control.

Planned Giving

  • Planning for a contribution to Wasatch Community Gardens in your financial, tax, or estate plan can enable you to support WCG and receive financial benefits such as tax savings and increased income.

  • Some forms of planned giving can include giving through your retirement plan, making a bequest in your will, donating a life insurance policy, giving through a donor advised fund, charitable annuity or charitable trust.

In-kind Donations

We can also benefit from various in-kind donations. We publish a wish list which includes many, but not all, of our needs. Click here to view our wish list. Prior to making an in-kind donation, please contact us to determine our need for your gift.

Volunteer
