Wasatch Community Gardens' Utah Heritage Garden

UTAH NATIVE PLANT & WATER-WISE DEMONSTRATION

In association with the

Utah Native Plant Society

Utah Native Plant Society

In May 2003 Wasatch Community Gardens (WCG) collaborated with the Utah Native Plant Society (UNPS) to create a living legacy of Utah's bioregional heritage-the WCG Utah Heritage Garden in the West parking strip of the Grateful Tomato Garden on 800 S. & 600 E.

The Utah Native Plant Society (www.unps.org ) is dedicated to the conservation and restoration of Utah 's native plant community. By creating Utah Heritage gardens throughout the Wasatch Front, UNPS teaches Utahan's about our unique and spectacular native plant heritage. The WCG Utah Heritage Garden demonstrates that water-wise landscaping with Utah natives can be as beautiful and interesting as European style landscaping. Much of the connection that one feels with nature comes from discovering how natural cycles are played out among plants in their natural setting. By sharing this garden with our neighbors we hope to encourage respect and curiosity about the fate of Utah 's native plants.
