Who:
Any High-school student who are interested in learning and working in an urban garden. WCG has arranged for Students in Salt Lake City School District to receive high-school credit (talk with the school's Internship Counselor), students in other schools may also be eligible for credit, as determined by the school.

What: This is a hands-on internship in the vegetable production gardens. Students will receive organic Farming instruction, and build job skills and an appreciation for the environment and community while working in the garden. Interns will learn a life skill while making a meaningful contribution to a community-based non-profit organization.

Where: Wasatch Community Gardens Tomato and Fairpark Community Gardens, specifically in gardens used for youth education classes and donations to those in need. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the gardens.

When: Eight-weeks sessions are offered four times/year. The first session starts March 18th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm - 5pm. Studens can attend from one to four sessions. New sessions start every eight weeks, and applications are due one month prior to the beginning of a session.

Students should fill out and submit an application by February 15, 2008 for the Spring Session (March 18th Start Date). Submit applications to Maddy Corey, Community Education Coordinator at community@wasatchgardens.org or mail to: WCG, PO Box 2924, SLC, UT 84110. While WCG is happy to offer assistance, it is the student's responsibility to arrange for credit, though WCG has worked to arrange for credit with the Salt Lake School District.
