Tool Library
At our Tool Library, you can check out garden tools free of charge, much as you would borrow a book from a library. The purpose of the library is to make gardening more accessible to people who lack the tools or money to purchase tools to grow their own garden. The library also serves groups such as community gardens who may need one-day access to a large number of tools for volunteer events.
Rules & Procedures
All clients must be at least 18 years of age. A minor may check out tools if accompanied by their legal guardian. Both parties must sign below.
The period of checkout for all tools is one (1) week. Clients must coordinate with the Wasatch Community Gardens staff for return of tools. It is the responsibility of the client to return tools on time. Renewals for tools (a maximum of 1 time) may be obtained by contacting the Wasatch Community Gardens office, if other clients have not already requested the tools.
Credit card information must be provided to check out all power tools. The card will be charged the full value of the tool if the tool is not brought back within one month of checkout.
A fine of one (1) dollar per day will be imposed for tools that are not returned on time. A fine of three (3) dollars per day will be imposed for power tools that are not returned on time.
If any tool starts to break or becomes unsafe, the client must stop using the tool, contact WCG, and arrange to immediately return it to the library. Compensation procedures for lost or broken tools will be decided by Wasatch Community Gardens on a case-by-case basis.
Wasatch Community Gardens has the right to refuse the loan of tools for any reason.
Wasatch Community Gardens has the right to alter or suspend any of the above policies.
How To Check Out Tools

2. Contact Wasatch Community Gardens to arrange a time to pick up the tool(s). 801-359-2658
3. Items that you will need to bring with you to the Library:
Client Information Sheet
Client Agreement Form
Current photo ID
Proof of Residency (For example, a current bill with your name and address)
Credit Card (for power tools only)
4. Please clean all tools prior to returning them.
